Christine CHENICK This course focuses on the specific language skills "International Business Master 212" graduates will have to use in their future careers : writing, understanding and speaking for professional purposes. Throughout the academic year, students will also be exposed to specialized terminology covering topics such as management techniques, business strategy, marketing, finance and human resources. The first 12 sessions will concentrate on writing for business purposes: e-mails, letters, memos, outlines, case study solutions, for example. Through weekly written tasks, students will concentrate on using clear structure and specific vocabulary as well as accurate grammar and correct spelling. The second 12 sessions will concentrate on speaking in professional contexts. In this part of the course, oral practice will especially deal with interview situations where each class member will be required to introduce himself/herself as a potential candidate as well as question other class members. Additional oral activites will include negotiating by telephone and presenting case study solutions.
